 What Instruments do you play?

I play Bass Guitar for Me Like Bees. I also dabble on Guitar, Piano, Accordion, Banjo and Uke. 


Are you currently working on any music projects?

Yes! Me Like Bees is currently getting ready to release an E.P we just recorded with John Feldmann (Goldfinger, 5 Seconds of Summer, The Used, Beautiful Bodies).We are working on getting it pressed and shooting some music videos. It should be out sometime this Fall.

What are your 2 favorite careers?

The two favorite careers I have had would be the two I am currently pursuing. I do marketing for Springfield Music Company and being a musician.

What are some of your other favorite activities?

I really like to canoe and go camping. I also really like to just watch movies.

What is the hardest thing you ever had to do?

Probably deciding to quit my job in order to pursue music more heavily. It is a long story but I was able to get things worked out to where I work from the road, but it was pretty unnerving to take a leap like that. 

What is your most favorite song? 


I have way too many songs that I love. I would say my absolute favorite song would be, Lady Blue by As Cities Burn.

Are you usually late, early or right on time?

I usually try to be right on time, but find myself late quite often. I’m never early.


Are you happy with your life for the most part right now? 


Absolutely! I have a wonderful wife and quite a few awesome things that I am working towards. I’ve definitely done much more musically than I ever thought I would so I am very happy with where I am.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? 


I would love to go to France. Paris seems like such an awesome place; plus all of the history is amazing!

What do you think would be the hardest venture for you to give up on?

It would be very hard for me to just give up on Me Like Bees right now. We have invested a lot in that band and have some really cool stuff that we are working on. I would hate to just let it all go.

Meet Musician: Gareth J Rubery

What Instruments do you play?

Piano, Euphonium, Drum Kit.

Are you currently working on any music projects?

In April this year I set myself the challenge of composing, recording and releasing a new piece every month. So far I am on target, and I have a new piano piece called ‘Lost With You’ which is ready for release at the beginning of July. 

What are your 2 favorite careers?

Being a Composer and a Musician is a very enjoyable way to spend my days… I have always fancied flying fighter jets for a living too, I must get round to that one…

What are some of your other favorite activities?

My No.1 favorite thing to do is to visit new places with my wife, walking off of the well trodden path and getting lost. Sky Diving is a great buzz and I also like to crash out with a curry and a good movie. 

What is the hardest thing you ever had to do?

…turn full time with composing. I teach most days so that we can have a roof over our head, and for that job, I am very grateful. I would love to teach less and take more time to complete 2-3 new pieces every month. It takes 30-40 hours to write and record a new piece, so every download from places like Band Camp, take me closer to being able to do this full time. The nice thing is that music lovers are investing in the independent artists that they love, and it actually empowers us with more time to make what we all love - new music.

What is your most favorite song?

My favorite song…now that is quite impossible for me to answer. My favorite song by The Beatles is ‘A Day in the Life’, although, if I had to choose the coolest Beatles song, it would be ‘Tomorrow Never Knows’.

Are you usually late, early or right on time?

I usually time everything so that I walk through the door right on time.

Are you happy with your life for the most part right now?

I can honestly say that I am the happiest that I have ever been. My wife makes my life so much better than I could make it on my own, I look forward to waking up every day so that I can see her, and I look forward to coming home to her every night. (I just got loads of brownie points for that one!)

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?

It’s got to be Thailand. We would go and lay in the sun, learn to scuba dive and eat the fantastic food that I have heard about there. 

What do you think would be the hardest venture for you to give up on?

Give up? No, I don’t think so.

I love any career that is creative and innovative

What are some of your other favorite activities?

I spend as much time as I can just being with my family. Aside from that I love going to music stores, buying records :)

What is the hardest thing you ever had to do?

Pursue a career in music!!

Typically early or right on time

Are you happy with your life for the most part right now?

Absolutely, I love every day :)

I would tour Europe

Meet Musician: Ryan Delahoussaye

What Instruments do you play?

I play five instruments, piano, syn, mandolin, violin and viola, I also sing.

I mess around with drums, single string instruments, cello and bagpipes. 

Are you currently working on any music projects?

I have my debut solo EP titled Tufstrings, coming out in the middle of July.  

What are your 2 favorite careers?

My two favorite careers, I loved waiting tables and love being a musician.

I see teaching in my future, down the road. 

What is the hardest thing you ever had to do?
The hardest thing I've had to do was give up two tickets to Radiohead, due to having a gig with another band.  Also, the hardest thing I have chosen to do was stop smoking cigarettes, which sucks because I crave them everyday.

What is your most favorite song?

My favorite song is titled First of the year.  It's the last song on my upcoming EP Tufstrings.  The First of the Year is about my family and my journey after meeting Angele. 

Are you usually late, early or right on time?
I am usually late.  I am perpetually late.  I love the CEO of McDonald's Ray Kroc's philosophy regarding punctuality.  He was always fifteen minutes early to every event and credits his success to this. 

Are you happy with your life for the most part right now?
Yes I am very happy with my life.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I have never been to the South Pacific; I would like to go there for vacation. 

What do you think would be the hardest thing for you to give up on?

Touring, because it allows me to see the world, but the negative side is it keeps me away from my family.  All of the other ventures of my life would be easy to let go of, although if I couldn't play violin, I would lose my purpose.

What are your 2 favorite careers?

I think that all of us would love to either be: A. Full time musicians or B. Full time teachers, we all kind of focus in those directions, except for Jeff who would probably like to be a salesman.

What are some of your other favorite activities?

We get together to have fajitas and beer with our buddies. Sometimes a few of us have gone kayaking together, which is a blast.

What is the hardest thing you ever had to do?Our band is quite functional, but I feel like getting our first record finished was a process. It was a lot of learning.

What is your favorite song?

My favorite song off of our album is the title track, “Novarupta”. It has a very complex yet calming feel to it.

Are you usually late, early or right on time?

On tour we were always right on time, our tour manager soon learned that we were timely people and started getting more relax about call times.

Are you happy with your life for the most part right now?

We just got off of an amazing tour with Blue October and now we are working on more music, so everything is great!

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I think we would probably like to tour Europe for a good while. Since we are instrumental, the language barrier for other countries simply vanishes.

What do you think would be the hardest venture for you to give up on?

We are very dedicated to our band and bettering ourselves. I think that if we could do nothing else, we would strive to become better musicians.
